GoPrep Formula Feed Maker

Thank you for purchasing a Tommee Tippee GoPrep Formula Feed Maker. This product support page is here to help you learn how to use, clean and care for your GoPrep, and to help with any queries you may have.

  1. Clean and disinfect the surface you are going to use. It is important that you wash your hands.
  2. Fill the kettle with fresh tap water (do not use water that has been boiled before). Boil the water.
  3. Take care when handling freshly boiled water.

  1. Fill the hot flask with boiling water and take out of the home with you.
  2. Measure out the formula as per manufacturer instructions and store in the milk powder dispenser until you are ready to use.
  3. When you are ready to feed, attach the digital lid to the hot flask and tilt the flask sideways for a minimum of 5 seconds to ensure the water is still hot enough and safe to make a feed. The star on the digital lid should turn red.
  4. You can now pour the water from the hot flask into the cooling flask using the graduation marks on the inside of the flask for correct measurements
  5. Add the correct amount of formula powder, as per manufacturers guidelines, in line with the amount of water in the flask.
  6. Screw the digital lid onto the cooling flask, ensuring it is assembled correctly, and shake well to mix the powder with the hot water, ensuring it’s fully dissolved. Shaking the cooling flask starts the cooling process.
  7. The time it takes for the feed to cool depends on the feed size, refer to the table below. To check if a feed is ready to dispense into a baby bottle, tilt the cooling flask sideways for a minimum of 5 seconds so the milk touches the digital lid. The lid will show a blue star when the feed is ready. Don’t dispense the feed before 2 minutes
  8. Decant your feed into a clean, sterile bottle. And follow bottle feeding instructions.
  9. Always check the temperature before feeding your baby. Once a feed is made, use straight away.

The integrated thermometer in the digital lid will activate the digital screen when it contacts water or milk. The same lid can be used to take the temperature of milk or water when used on either the cooling flask or the hot flask. Remember to remove the grey plastic pouring insert when attaching the digital lid to the hot flask. It will tell you when a feed is ready for baby, but also when water is still hot enough to start making a feed. Activate the digital screen by tapping the screen.

Under most circumstances the digital lid will not show a red star when attached to the cooling flask. This is because the cooling flask will start cooling the feed immediately and brings the feed temperature below the range that would show a red star. That is why we recommend you test the temperature of your water before making a feed by placing the digital lid on the hot flask to ensure the water is safe to make a feed.

Cooling times should be used as a guide only. Always check food temperatures before feeding. Always follow formula powder manufacturer’s instructions for making a feed.

The cooling flask works by absorbing heat from hot liquids. After being exposed to heat, it will require a minimum of 3 hours before being ready to use again.

The flask can be cleaned in warm soapy water or a dishwasher, and it can also be sterilised (see table below). The lid can be washed in warm soapy water. Take care to remove the silicone seal and use the small brush provided to clean behind the seal of any excess milk. The flask and lid should be cleaned and sterilised after every use.

To avoid the build-up of limescale the container should be periodically cleaned. The best results are obtained using a mixture of water and bicarbonate of soda or washing up liquid. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.

FAQ’S

We’ve prepared some common questions and top tips to help you with your new GoPrep.

The digital lid should be cleaned in warm soapy water, using the small brush provided if required and it can then be sterilised in either a Microwave Steriliser or the Advanced-Steam Electric Steriliser.

The lid contains a long-life battery which is sealed into the lid and is designed to last through the bottle feeding journey, the exact battery life is dependent on usage.

Ensure you have removed the grey plastic pouring insert, then the lid can attach securely.

The cool element of the flask requires 3 hours to reset after use. Once you have applied heat to the flask for the last time and leave it to rest the 3 hours will start. So, if you washed the flask in hot water and then sterilised the re-set time will start post the cleaning and sterilisation stage.

We would not recommend making up feed and storing, in line with formula guidelines feed should be made up and used straight away and any left-over feed disposed of. Storage for a period of time is not recommended.

The flask holds up to 240ml of water (8oz) so you can make up bottles to that capacity so one single feed or combination of smaller feed sizes.

The boiling water will stay hot in the flask (to make up a feed) for a minimum of 4 hours depending on how much water is added to the flask.

There are graduations on the inside of the cooling flask to help with measurements, or you could measure into a bottle first and then transfer to the cooling flask.
